Like all medications, Gedarel can cause side effects, but not everyone will experience them.

- Mood changes
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Period pain
- Weight gain
Uncommon side effects (which may affect up to 1 in 100 people) include:
- Fluid retention (bloating)
- Decreased libido
- Migraine
- Impaired hearing (otosclerosis)
- High blood pressure
- Diarrhoea
- Vomiting
- Breast enlargement
Rare side effects (which may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people) include:
- Hypersensitivity
- Increased sexual desire
- Eye irritation
- Skin disorders
- Blood clots
