Fluconazole 150mg Capsule is an oral treatment that is used to treat thrush. Thrush is a fungal infection that can affect the genitals and skin of both men and women. Thrush causes symptoms including:
- Itchiness in the affected area
- Irritation
- White discharge
How does Fluconazole 150mg Capsule work to treat thrush?
The active ingredient in each capsule is fluconazole. Fluconazole targets the fungi causing thrush (Candida) so that they stop producing ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Disrupting ergosterol production breaks down the fungal cell membrane, preventing Candida from spreading. Each Fluconazole capsule contains 150mg of fluconazole.
How long does Fluconazole take to work?
Fluconazole 150mg Capsule should cause the symptoms of thrush to disappear within two days of treatment. If you see no improvement after seven days of taking Fluconazole, you should inform your doctor.
How do I take Fluconazole 150mg Capsule?
The full course of treatment is a single dose of one Fluconazole capsule, so you only have to take it once to clear the thrush infection. The Fluconazole capsule should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
Who can’t use Fluconazole 150mg Capsule?
You should not take this medication if you are allergic to fluconazole, another similar antifungal medication or any of the other ingredients in the oral treatment.
