Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is a government regulator and part of the Department of Health and Social Care. It’s responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices dispensed and sold by UK pharmacies are legitimate and safe. Any UK website that wants to sell medicines must be authorised by the MHRA in order to do so. General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) The General Pharmaceutical Council is an independent body that regulates the pharmacy profession in England, Scotland and Wales. It was founded in 2010 along with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and oversees pharmacy premises, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to promote the safe and effective practice of pharmacy in Britain.
