The medication, I find, is very effective. I usually take it in the evening, around 8 - 8.30pm. It only takes around 30 minutes to be effective, with the only side effect being a blocked nose. It works as long as you need it to, and is still effective in the morning, and sometimes well into the day. Overall I'm very satisfied
