What other ingredients and minerals are present in Centrum tablets?

Centrum contains many minerals that are essential for normal cellular and organ functions including: calcium, magnesium, selenium, iron, zinc, manganese, folic acid, and iodine.

When should I take the vitamins?

You should swallow a tablet whole with water, preferably at bedtime.

How often should I take a vitamin tablet?

Take one multivitamin per day, at bedtime.

Normally, multivitamins should be taken with your main meal but due to the way orlistat works, while you are taking this medication you should take a vitamin tablet at least two hours before or after taking the treatment, such as bedtime.

Are these suitable for pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Centrum Advance is not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding. We would recommend a multivitamin specifically formulated for pregnancy, such as Pregnacare.

I am vegetarian/vegan. Are these vitamins suitable for me?

Centrum multivitamins are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans as they contain products derived from animal sources.

Are these suitable for a kosher/halal diet?

They are not suitable for a kosher or halal diet. Centrum multivitamins contain gelatine from bovine (cattle) or porcine (pig).

Are these multivitamins gluten-free?

Yes, they do not contain any gluten, wheat or yeast.

Why take vitamins with Orlistat?

Orlistat interferes with the absorption of fat from your food and this includes certain fat-soluble vitamins. These vitamins are consumed from your diet and stored in the body for future use.

Taking orlistat makes it more difficult to absorb these key vitamins including vitamin A, D, E, and K. It is important to take supplements containing these particular vitamins alongside your treatment.
